You could make a children’s version of a class text to help struggling readers understand the basic themes, plot elements, etc. You could also have the class make the text to enhance their learning and get a basic understanding of the text, while engaging them in something creative.

You could use this as a PowerPoint or a Prezi and create a presentation.

You could also use this program to create a biography of a historical figure.

Students could also create their own stories to give a report on a book, person, or event that they are researching.

Great interactive way to get students involved with technology.

We can use this tool as a creative way to teach students various subjects. You can use this for creating hypothetical situations such as singing veggies and birds. For math, you can use this to create a step by step cartoon to solve a math problem. But this is very time consuming.

This is not as good as it could be, but I could definitely see this being used in my classroom. I like that the students get to create stories that they are interested in. I am running out of time... so here is the story... on relationships.

I can definitely see myself using StoryJumper in a classroom. In particular, I would really like to do this for a Buddy Reading project, where the older students create a story book for the younger students who they are working with. This website would make it simple for the students to do that and to share their book with their partner. Also, the older and younger student could even work together to create the story book based on common interests. I really think that would be the main way I would use this website, especially since I want to teach high school students. Those students probably would not be interested in creating story books for themselves, but by having them do it for younger students, they would probably get more into the project and dedicate themselves to it more.

Story Jumper can be used in a classroom in multiple ways.  Teachers can create a book that emphasizes a specific area that students may need help with such as phonics or counting.  In addition to this, books can be made to educate students on a topic that they may be about to start.  Teachers could also make a book to help ease a situation.  For example, if students are nervous for the first day of school, or if there is bullying going on, a teacher can make the book to make students more comfortable.

StoryJumper could be used to enhance learning in my classroom in multiple ways. It can be used to help an individual student in their specific needs during reading. If a student is having trouble with specific suffixes that you can incorporate that into a book that you create just for them. This will be able to engage the student, especially if you know what type of book they like to read. They will be able to access this book online, whether they are at home or at school. Also, I would be able to create a book that can explain the classroom rules as an introduction on the first day of school. The students will be interested and engaged because a book online is probably something they have never seen. It can give examples of appropriate classroom behavior through different characters or even a moral that you want to have them learn in the story. Also, this book can be used for students to create their own book to share with the class, the teacher, or even their family. They can learn how to create their own story through a plot and being creative with the endless amount of options when making a setting and characters.

This is a great way to differentiate instruction for all the different learners present in your classroom. Using this site to create a story about eating right or classroom rules would be a great introduction. Furthermore, this sight is a great way to teach the concepts and principles of books to your students. They templates and books present all have a cover page a title page a copy right page etc. These are simple things that students need to be exposed to! Without realizing it students are not only learning the different parts of a book but are also learning how to create their own. Storyjumper provides students an outlet to be creative and make something they are proud of. Along those lines, some students do not wish to draw due to what they perceive to be a lack of talent… with that in mind this site allows them to write the same story as before just adding clip art type pictures instead of drawing them.

Enhance learning in the classroom by creating specific books for childrens specific needs. IE: Children who are struggling with "mean mr. e" then you can create a story that uses "mean mr. e" specifically.

Storyjumper could be used in the classroom for several different reasons. One way that it can be used is that the teacher creates books for specific students based on their needs. If there is a student that needs to work on specific areas in their reading the teacher can create a book that focuses on those areas. Storyjumper can also be used to create books for any subject. Students could also create their own books based on a specific subject. For example if you just gave a lesson on multipulcation then the students can create math books containing multipulcation problems that they can use for studying and as a resource.

A story made on StoryJumper can be made by the teacher to customize a book that can address a unique subject, lesson, or issue in the classroom. It can also be used by students to create their own stories. Students can create an original book on StoryJumper, or they can publish a book they have already written. Students could also use StoryJumper to demonstrate their learning with the story as an end product to a lesson or unit. Students can also make treasure maps for a scavenger hunt or to use as a school prop.

Jessica Dixon:

Storyjumper would be a great method to make and publish a collaborative class book. This book could be a story book or an informational book. In one of my classes in high school, as a class we made a children’s book. We only made one copy and no one really knew how to make a hardback version that we all could purchase. By using this program, everyone could add to the book and buy it if they wanted.

Story Jumper is a great way to incorporate creativity in the classroom. The program allows for students to be the author and illustrator of their very own stories. This lets students practice their English and language arts abilities.

Story jumper is really cool to further explain a point in a lesson. It also allows students creativity and will give them a fun way to practice literacy in and outside of the classroom. In a music classroom this could be a great way for students to create their own book about an instrument or composer as well as a piece of music! It would also be a cool way to present any of these topics.
